Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2004 GMC Yukon XL, 2004 GMC Yukon, 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L (RPO LQ4))  or Engine Sight Shield Replacement (6.0L (RPO LQ9)) .
  2. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the intake manifold and valve rocker arm cover.

  3. Remove the vent hose from the throttle body and the valve rocker arm cover.

  4. Replace the hose as necessary.
