Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

Install the transfer case drain plug.

Tighten

Tighten the transfer case drain plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)

Important: When filling the transfer case with the approved fluid level, the transfer case fluid should be level with treads for the fill hole.
Fill the transfer case with the proper amount an type of transfer case fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES - APPROXIMATE FLUID .
Install the transfer case fill plug.

Tighten

Tighten the transfer case fill plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
Install the transfer case shield. Refer to TRANSFER CASE SHIELD REPLACEMENT .
Lower the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
