Installation Procedure

  1. Install the shock absorber to the vehicle.

    Important:  Position the bolts in the same direction that they removed or suspension clearance may be affected.

  2. Install the shock absorber mounting bolts.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the new shock absorber mounting nuts and the washers.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the shock absorber mounting nuts to 62 N.m (46 lb ft).

  4. Install the wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT - WHEELHOUSE in Body Front End.
  5. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  6. Lower and vehicle.
  7. Dispose of the shock absorber. Refer to SHOCK ABSORBER DISPOSAL .
