Installation Procedure

  1. If replacing the condenser, add the PAG oil to the condenser. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CAPACITIES  for capacity information.
  2. Install the condenser to the radiator.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Caution and Notices.
  3. Install the bolts that retain the condenser to the radiator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  4. Install the center support bracket. Refer to SUPPORT REPLACEMENT - CENTER in Body Front End.
  5. Install new O-ring seals. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  6. Install the evaporator tube to the condenser.
  7. Tighten the evaporator tube nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

  8. Install new O-ring seals. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  9. Install the compressor hose assembly to the condenser.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

  10. Install the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT in Exterior Trim.
  11. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  12. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A. 
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY in Removal & Installation.
