Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW valve rocker arm cover gasket, if necessary.
  2. Install the valve rocker arm cover.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts in sequence using two passes as shown.

    Tighten: 

    1. Tighten the bolts a first pass to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
    2. Tighten the bolts a final pass to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  6. Install the spark plug wires to the ignition coils.

  8. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector (3).
  9. Connect the ignition coil harness electrical connector (2).
  10. Install the CPA retainer to the ignition coil electrical connector (2).

  12. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.

  14. Tighten the clamps at the throttle body and air cleaner.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamps to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  15. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
