Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection

  1. Remove the oil pan gasket (404) from the groove in the oil pan (400).
  2. Clean the oil pan in solvent.

    CAUTION: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Dry with compressed air.
  5. Inspect the oil pan for the following conditions:
    • The drain plug hole for damaged threads
    • Gouges or damage to the oil pan sealing surfaces
    • Cracks or damage to the exterior of the oil pan
    • Damage to the oil level indicator tube area
    • Damage to the oil pan gasket
