Installation Procedure

- Install a NEW oil pump O-ring seal.
- Install the oil pump.NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the oil pump bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Inspect the oil pump drive gear for wear.
- Replace the oil pump drive gear pin if worn.
- Install the oil pump drive gear and reluctor to the crankshaft.
- Install the oil pump driven gear.
- While holding the secondary oil pump shaft with a hex driver, install the oil pump driven gear nut.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Install a NEW oil pump screen gasket to the oil pump.
- Install the oil pump screen.
- Install the oil pump screen bolts and nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts/nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
- If the vehicle is a 2WD, install the flywheel housing. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement (Automatic Transmission) or Engine Flywheel Replacement (Manual Transmission) .
- Install the upper oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement - Upper .
