Installation Procedure

  1. Install the outer tie rod end to the inner tie rod.
  2. Install the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the outer tie rod end retaining nut to the steering knuckle.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 55 N.m (40 lb ft).

  6. Install the outer tie rod end retaining bracket (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining bolts to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).

  7. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Perform a four wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment (w/Rear Wheel Steering) or Measuring Wheel Alignment (w/o Rear Wheel Steering) in Wheel Alignment.
