Installation Procedure

- Install the power steering cooler (1) to the radiator support.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts retaining the power steering cooler to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Install the power steering cooler outlet hose (2) to the power steering pump (1).
- Install the retaining clamp.
- Install the power steering inlet hose (3) to the power steering gear (1).
- Install the retaining clamp.
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
- Inspect all the hose connections for leaks.
- Install the front grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (GMC) or Grille Replacement (Chevrolet) in Exterior Trim.
- Connect the energy storage box after servicing the vehicle. Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Service Disconnect/Connect (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) in Engine Electrical.
