Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the energy storage box (ESB). Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Service Disconnect/Connect (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
  2. Remove the ESB intermediate cover. Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Intermediate Cover Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
  3. Remove the 42-volt positive/negative cable retainer nuts, and retainer.

  5. Remove the red connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
  6. Disconnect the 42-volt positive/negative cable electrical connector (4).

  8. Remove the service disconnect power cable nut (1) and cable from the high current connector (HCC).

  10. Remove the HCC power cable nut and cable from battery 3.
  11. Remove the HCC screws.

  13. Remove the HCC.
