Installation Procedure

Install the HCC.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the HCC screws.
Tighten: Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

Install the HCC power cable and nut to battery 3.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Install the service disconnect power cable and nut (1) to the HCC.
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Connect the 42-volt positive/negative cable electrical connector (4).

Install the red CPA retainer.
Install the 42-volt positive/negative cable retainer and nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Install the ESB intermediate cover. Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Intermediate Cover Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
