Installation Procedure

  1. Install the HCC.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the HCC screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the HCC power cable and nut to battery 3.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the service disconnect power cable and nut (1) to the HCC.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Connect the 42-volt positive/negative cable electrical connector (4).

  10. Install the red CPA retainer.
  11. Install the 42-volt positive/negative cable retainer and nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  13. Install the ESB intermediate cover. Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Intermediate Cover Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
