Removal Procedure

Remove the energy storage box (ESB) intermediate cover. Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Trim Cover Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
Disconnect the 120-volt AC electrical connector (3).

Remove the receptacle outlet screws (1).

Carefully pull the receptacle outlet (3) out of the ESB until the retaining tabs are accessible.
Insert a small flat-bladed tool into the openings (1) in the receptacle box in order to release the tabs securing the face plate.
Remove the receptacle face plate (2).
