Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (with HP2) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (without HP2) in Engine Cooling.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) in Engine Electrical.
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  4. Loosen the charged air cooler outlet duct clamp (1).
    IMPORTANT: Do not use a screwdriver or other tool to pry the hose loose. The hose can be torn or damaged. Loosen the hose by twisting.

  6. Remove the charged air cooler outlet duct.
  7. Loosen the charged air cooler inlet duct to turbocharger clamp (1).

  9. Remove the charged air cooler inlet duct from the turbocharger.
  10. Remove the engine wiring harness. Refer to Engine Wiring Harness Assembly Replacement .
  11. Remove the Schrader valve nuts (1) and bracket (2).

  13. Reposition the fuel hose clamps.
  14. Remove the fuel hose (1) from the fuel feed block.

  16. Remove the Schrader valve and fuel hose from the engine.
  17. Remove the fuel hose from valve.
