Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .

  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 8.1L.
  3. Clean any dirt from the fuel pressure dampener retainer and the surrounding area.
  4. Remove the fuel pressure dampener clip (1) and dampener.

  5. Remove the fuel pressure dampener backup ring.

  6. Remove the fuel pressure dampener O-ring.
