Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines) or Engine Sight Shield Replacement (6.0L Engine w/RPOs Y91 and Z88) in Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.
  2. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) line from the canister purge solenoid, perform the following:
    1. Push the large size white retainer portion in.
    2. Push down, while pulling up slightly in order the disengage the tube.

  4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector (1).

  6. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt (2).
  7. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3) and insulator (1).
