Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra and 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent to the treads of the oil drain and fill plugs.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the oil drain plug.

    Tighten:  Tighten the plug to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  3. Fill the transmission to just below the bottom of the fill plug hole. Refer to Lubrication Specifications .
  4. Install the oil fill plug.

    Tighten:  Tighten the plug to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
