Installation Procedure

  1. Position the J 36502-2A  over the output shaft.

  2. Using J 36502  install the NEW output shaft seal.

  4. Remove the J 36502-2A  from the output shaft.

  6. Fill the space between the seal lips with grease GM P/N 1052497 or equivalent.
  7. Install transfer case. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement in Transfer Case - NVG 236/246-NP8 (Two Speed Automatic) or Transfer Case Assembly Replacement in Transfer Case - NVG 261-NP2 (Two Speed Manual).
  8. Check the transmission fluid level. Add as necessary.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
