Engine Oil Pressure Gage

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The IPC uses the engine oil pressure sensor signal to determine the engine oil pressure. The oil pressure sensor signal circuit is solely dedicated to the IPC.

The engine oil pressure sensor signal to the IPC is a variable resistance ranging from 0-90 Ω 1. A sensor resistance of 1 Ω will display as 0 psi (0 kPa) and a resistance of 88 Ω will display as 80 psi (550 kPa).
