Accumulator & 2-1 Manual Servo: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  2. Remove the accumulator attaching bolts. See Fig 1 . Remove the accumulator assembly. See Fig 2 .
  3. Remove the 2-1 manual servo piston cover bolts. Remove the 2-1 manual servo piston assembly and the filter. See Fig 3 . Remove the seal. Disassemble and inspect the accumulator and the 2-1 manual servo assemblies for foreign debris and clean as necessary. See appropriate OVERHAUL article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
