Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the heater inlet hose to the engine water outlet adapter pipe.
  2. Install the heater inlet hose clamp using the J 38185  at the engine water outlet adapter pipe.
  3. Apply lubricant GM P/N 9985662 to each end of the heater inlet hose.

    Important:  When installing new heater inlet hose, place the clamp on the hose before installing the hose to the vehicle.

  4. Install the heater inlet hose to the vehicle.

  5. Install the heater inlet hose to the heater core.
  6. Install the heater inlet hose clamp using the J 38185  at the heater core.
  7. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
