Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  2. Remove the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (2.2L) or RADIATOR REPLACEMENT (4.3L) in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the nut retaining the compressor hose to the condenser.
  4. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the condenser.
  5. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser. Refer to EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT (2.2L)  or EVAPORATOR TUBE REPLACEMENT (4.3L) .
  6. Remove the insulator retainer bolts and the upper insulator retainers.
  7. Remove the condenser from the vehicle.
