Extension Housing Rear Oil Seal (4L80-E): Removal

NOTE: Tools required: Rear Lubricant Seal Installer (J-41505), Slide Hammer Adapter (J-6125-1B), Universal Seal Remover (J-23129), and Transmission Assembly Lubricant (J-36850).

Raise and support the vehicle. Place a drain pan under the vehicle. Remove the propeller shaft. Remove the output shaft seal (3) from the extension housing (4) using the slide hammer adapter and the universal seal remover (J-6125-1B and J-23129). See Fig 1 . Inspect the case extension housing for damage. Replace the extension housing if necessary.
