Removal Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
- Squeeze the plastic retainer tabs on the inlet hose.
- Pull the connection apart.
- Squeeze the plastic retainer tabs on the outlet hose.
- Pull the connection apart.
- Remove the auxiliary heater pipes (1, 2) from the heater inlet and outlet tees (3, 4).
- Remove both of the right tires. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the right rear wheelhouse panel. Refer to WHEELHOUSE INNER PANEL EXTENSION REPLACEMENT - REAR in Body Rear End.
- Remove the right front wheelhouse panel. Refer to WHEELHOUSE PANEL REPLACEMENT in Body Front End.
- Remove the auxiliary heater pipes (2, 3) from the auxiliary heater core.
- Remove the heater/A/C tubes retaining nut (4) from the stud (1) at the frame (6).
- Remove the auxiliary heater pipes (2) from the clamps (5).
- Remove the auxiliary heater pipes from the vehicle.
