Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the evaporator tube to the condenser using new sealing washers. Refer to SEALING WASHER REPLACEMENT  .
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the evaporator tube nut to the condenser.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  3. Install the grille to the vehicle. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (CADILLAC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (AVALANCHE) in Exterior Trim.
  4. Install the right park/turn signal lamp. Refer to PARK/TURN SIGNAL LAMP REPLACEMENT (EXCEPT AVALANCHE) or PARK/TURN SIGNAL LAMP REPLACEMENT (AVALANCHE) in Lighting Systems.
  5. Connect the evaporator tube to the auxiliary A/C tube using new sealing washers, if equipped. Refer to SEALING WASHER REPLACEMENT  .
  6. Install the evaporator tube nut to the auxiliary A/C tube, if equipped.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the evaporator tube to the evaporator.
  8. Install the evaporator tube nut to the evaporator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  9. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  10. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A  .
