Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Partially raise the window.
  2. Remove the manual door-lock lever.
  3. Remove the manual window handle, if equipped. Refer to WINDOW HANDLE REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the door switch panel. Refer to SWITCH REPLACEMENT - DOOR LOCK AND SIDE WINDOW - DRIVER  and SWITCH REPLACEMENT - DOOR LOCK AND SIDE WINDOW - PASSENGER  .
  5. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE REAR DOOR (TAHOE/YUKON/ESCALADE)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - SIDE REAR DOOR (SUBURBAN/YUKON XL/AVALANCHE/ESCLD EXT)  .
  6. Remove the water deflector. Refer to WATER DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR  .
  7. Loosen the window run channel bolt.

    Important:  Do not remove the bolt.

  8. Loosen the retaining bolts (3) from the window assembly.

  10. Remove the window glass (1) from the door by sliding the window glass out through the top.
