Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the axle shaft seal.
  2. Install the axle shaft. Refer to  REAR AXLE SHAFT REPLACEMENT (8.6 INCH AXLE W/O JL4, 9.5 INCH AXLE)   or  REAR AXLE SHAFT REPLACEMENT (8.6 INCH AXLE W/JL4)   or  REAR AXLE SHAFT REPLACEMENT (9.75 INCH AXLE)   . 
  3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
