Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Place the lower hinge studs (1) into the stowage compartment (2).

Important: If equipped with a gasket, ensure the gasket alignment surrounds the retainers to prevent water intrusion.
Install the lower hinge retainers (1).

Align the upper hinge with the stowage compartment lid and install the screws (1).
NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten
1. Tighten the screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

Reinstall the stowage compartment onto the vehicle. Refer to LID REPLACEMENT - CARGO BOX STOWAGE BOX (AVALANCHE) .
