End Gate Adjustment

  1. Lower the end gate.
  2. Remove the end gate handle bezel retaining bolts (1).

  3. Remove the end gate handle bezel (2) by using a flat-bladed tool to release the push-in retainers attached to the bezel directly below the handle (3).

  4. Release the right side end gate handle latch rod retainer (3).

  5. Release the left side end gate handle latch rod retainer (4).
  6. Adjust the latch by positioning the rod seating position in the retainer. Position each side equally.
  7. Attach the retaining clips.
  8. Close the end gate. Ensure that the end gate is latched securely.
  9. Open the end gate. Observe the ease of operation.
  10. Continue to adjust by repeating steps 6 through 9 until the desired operation is achieved.
  11. Attach the end gate handle bezel. Ensure that both push-in retainers are aligned correctly.
    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (7 lb ft).
