Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Install the inlet hose to the water outlet.
Reposition the inlet hose clamp to the water outlet.

Install the inlet hose clip to the fan shroud.
Install the inlet hose to the radiator.
Reposition the inlet hose clamp to the radiator.

Install the radiator vent inlet hose to the radiator inlet hose clips.
If necessary, install the engine sight shield. Refer to ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (4.8L, 5.3L, AND 6.0L (RPO LQ4) or ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (6.0L (RPO LQ9) in Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.

Important: Align the arrow at the throttle body end of the duct with the throttle body attaching stud.
Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
- Throttle body
- MAF/IAT sensor
  Tighten
  
  Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
