Disabling System ("C" & "K" Pickup, & Escalade)

WARNING: Pickup models are equipped with ON/OFF switches for passenger side air bags. Turning switch OFF will NOT disable the driver air bag.
  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position. Remove key from ignition switch.
  2. Remove AIR BAG fuse from instrument panel fuse block. Wait 10 minutes. Fuse block is located at far left end of instrument panel. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip, and disconnect driver air bag 2-pin Yellow SIR connector at lower left edge of instrument panel. See Figure.
  3. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip, and disconnect passenger air bag 2-pin Yellow SIR connector located on steering column brace. See Figure.
