Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Use the tape for protection and alignment marks for alignment of the new emblem.
  1. Apply tape to the area around the pickup box emblem.
  2. Heat the emblem/nameplate, using a heat gun J 25070  152 mm (6.0 in) from the surface.
  3. Apply the heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
  4. Remove the emblem/nameplate from the pickup box surface using a plastic, flat-bladed tool.

  6. Remove all adhesive from the pickup box panel surface and the back of the emblem/nameplate using 3M™ scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.
  7. Clean the pickup box surface using varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha.
