Wiper Arm Tip Pressure Check
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Run the wiper arm and blade assemblies to the mid wipe position.
- Remove the blade from the arm.
- Attach a scale to the wiper arm tip and measure the force required to lift the arm perpendicular to the windshield to the normal working height of the arm (the height with the blade attached). The force required should be between 8.3 and 10.1 Newtons (30 to 36 ounces).
- Replace the arm if tip pressure is not within specifications.
