Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT -- IP CLUSTER .
  3. Remove the switch from the plate by using the following procedure:
    1. 3.1. Release the retaining tabs on the sides of the switch.
    2. 3.2. Pull the switch out of the plate.
    3. 3.3. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) at the back of the headlamp switch.
