Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Draining & Filling Cooling System .
  2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper .
  3. Remove the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Lower .
  4. Disconnect the radiator hoses from the radiator.
  5. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
  6. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  7. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator filler neck.

  9. Remove the radiator grille.
  10. Remove the four bolts attaching the A/C condenser to the radiator.
  11. Remove the radiator.
