Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the gasket.
  2. Install the booster assembly.
  3. Install the booster mounting nuts. Tighten the nuts to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).
  4. Connect the pushrod to the brake pedal. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement .
  5. Install the master cylinder.
  6. Install the master cylinder nuts. Tighten the nuts to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).
  7. Connect the power steering hoses to the booster. Tighten the hose fittings to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
  8. Connect the reservoir hose to the booster.
  9. Bleed the hydraulic brake booster. Refer to BLEEDING POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
  10. Release the parking brake.
