Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the booster pushrod (4) and stoplamp switch (2) from brake pedal (1). Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement .
  2. Detach and pivot the instrument panel down to access the brake pedal mounting bolt. Refer to IP ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the nut from the brake pedal pivot bolt.
  4. Remove the brake pedal pivot bolt.
  5. Remove the brake pedal (1), spacers and bushings from the vehicle.
