Sending Units & Sensors

SENDING UNITS & SENSORS LOCATION

Component Location
Ambient Air Temperature Sensor (DIC) Center of core support, in front of radiator.
Ambient Light Sensor On top center of dash.
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor On side of distributor. See Figure .
Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Behind, & to right of engine crankshaft pulley. See Figure .
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor On left side of left cylinder head. See Figure .
Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) Sensor On top rear of engine. See Figure .
Fuel Pump & Sender Assembly In fuel tank.
Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) Sensor Inside fuel tank.
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 On left front exhaust Y-pipe.
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2 On exhaust pipe, between catalytic converter & muffler.
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 2 Sensor 1 On right front exhaust Y-pipe, closest to exhaust manifold.
Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor On front frame crossmember.
Intake Air Temperature Sensor Top of air intake duct. See Figure .
Knock Sensor At left rear of distributor, on engine block. See Figure .
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Top of engine, near ignition coil. See Figure .
Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor Front of air intake duct. See Figure .
Passlock Sensor In steering column, near lock cylinder.
Propshaft Speed Sensor (Front) Near center of transfer case. See Figure .
Propshaft Speed Sensor (Rear) Near center of transfer case. See Figure .
Throttle Position (TP) Sensor On left side of throttle body. See Figure .
Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) (2WD) On rear of transmission. See Figure .
Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) (4WD) On rear of transmission. See Figure .
Wheel Speed Sensor (2) On respective wheel hub/knuckle.
