Removal Procedure

NOTE:
Use care when handling the torsion bars in order to avoid chipping or scratching the coating. Damage to the coating will result in premature failure of the torsion bars.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the J 36202 to the torsion bar adjuster arm.
- Using the J 36202 , increase the tension on the adjustment arm.
- Remove the adjustment bolt and the retaining nut. Record the number of turns required in order to remove the adjuster bolt.
- Remove the J 36202 from the adjuster arm.
- Slide the torsion bar forward and remove the adjustment arm.
- Slide the torsion bar back partially through the crossmember.
Important: Note the L for left and the R for right on the front end of the torsion bar because there are different bars for the left and right sides.
- Drop the front end of the torsion bar down and slide the bar forward.
