Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the shock absorber to the vehicle.

    Important:  Position the bolts in the same direction that they removed or suspension clearance may be affected.

  2. Install the shock absorber mounting bolts.
  3. Install the new shock absorber mounting nuts and the washers. Tighten the shock absorber mounting nuts to 62 N.m (46 lb ft).
  4. Install the wheelhouse splash shield.
  5. Install the tire and wheel.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Dispose of the shock absorber. Refer to Shock Absorber Disposal .
