Turn Signal Cancel Cam & Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required 

  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .

    Important:  Let the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil assembly hang freely after removal.

  2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel d module coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle  .
  3. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly (2) using J 23653-SIR and J 42137.

  5. Remove the bearing retainer (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
  6. Discard the bearing retainer.
  7. Remove J 23653-SIR  and J 42137  from the steering shaft assembly.
  8. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft assembly:
    1. The shaft lock shield assembly (4).
    2. The turn signal cancel cam assembly (3).
    3. The upper bearing spring (2).
    4. The thrust washer (1).
