Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle  .
  3. Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator from the linear shift assembly.

  4. Disconnect the shift cable from the linear shift assembly.

  6. Remove the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement - On Vehicle  .
  7. Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1).

  8. Remove the linear shift assembly mounting screws.
  9. Remove the linear shift assembly from the steering column.

  11. In order to disassemble the linear shift assembly, refer to Linear Shift Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle  .
