WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra and 2002 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The stoplamp switch indicates the brake pedal status. The normally-closed stoplamp switch supplies a battery voltage signal to the PCM. The signal voltage circuit opens when the brakes are applied.
If the PCM detects an open stoplamp switch circuit during accelerations, then DTC P0719 sets. DTC P0719 is a type "C" DTC.
