Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement  .

    Important:  Do not damage the crankshaft.

  2. Remove the crankshaft key from the keyway.

  3. Pry out the oil seal using a large screwdriver or the equivalent.
  4. Inspect the following items for scratches:
    • The front cover
    • The crankshaft
