Water Pump: Removal

  1. Remove left front fender wheelhouse inner panel. Drain engine coolant and engine block. See DRAINING & REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM . Remove thermostat housing crossover. See THERMOSTAT HOUSING COVER . Remove fan clutch. See FAN BLADE ASSEMBLY . Remove crankshaft balancer. See CRANKSHAFT BALANCER .
  2. Remove water pump outlet pipe to water pump nuts. Remove engine wiring harness retainer from inner stud. Remove water pump bolts. Note location of bolts. The bolts are 3 different lengths. Remove water pump assembly. See Figure. Remove water pump outlet pipe gasket.
