Removal (A/T)

Remove transmission. See appropriate AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS article in TRANSMISSIONS. Install Flywheel Holding Tool (J-44643) in starter opening in order to hold flywheel. Loosen flywheel bolts. Remove Flywheel Holding Tool. Remove flywheel bolts and discard. Remove flywheel washer. Remove flywheel assembly.
