Installation Procedure

  1. Install the mass damper (2) to the steering wheel.
    2. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the screws (1) retaining the mass damper to the steering wheel.

    Tighten:  tighten the mass damper mounting screws to 3 N.m (25 lb in).

  3. Install the inflator module. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (DRIVER-SIDE) in SIR.
  4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
