Removal Procedure

  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  4. Relieve the tension from the park brake cable by pulling down on the intermediate cable then release the cable from the equalizer bar.

  5. Remove the rear park brake bracket bolt.

  6. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever.
  7. Remove the wheel bearing. Refer to WHEEL HUB & BEARING REPLACEMENT .
  8. Remove the park brake assembly and backing plate from the steering knuckle.
  9. Remove the park brake shoe retaining clip bolt and retaining clip bolt and retaining clip.
  10. Remove the park brake shoe from the actuator.
