Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the screws (4) that retain the side front door assist handle (3) to the door.
  2. Remove the inside handle bezel. Refer to Handle Bezel Replacement - Inside .
  3. Remove the side front door trim plate. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement (Manual Windows)  or Door Trim Plate Replacement (Power Windows)  or Door Trim Plate Replacement (Side/Rear Door)  .
  4. Gently pull out the trim panel at the top of the window opening. Using a long, narrow screwdriver, pry the retaining clips apart in order to disengage the clips.
  5. Lift the side front door trim panel (1) up.
  6. Remove the side front door trim panel (1) from the door.
  7. Remove the side front door trim panel (1) from the vehicle.
  8. Inspect the side front door trim panel (1) for broken or missing retaining clips (2). Replace any retaining clips as needed.
