Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora and 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the recliner position sensor (5) to the recliner motor (4), if equipped.
  2. Install the power recliner motor into the seat back frame.
  3. Slide the recliner rod (2) through the power seat back recliner motor and the recliner assembly.
  4. Install a new push on nut (6) to the end of the recliner rod.

    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the power recliner motor fastener (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the recliner motor fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the wiring harness in the position in which it was removed.
  7. Connect the electrical connector to the power recliner motor and recliner position sensor if equipped.
  8. Install the inner recliner trim cover. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front  .
  9. Install the inner seat adjuster track cover. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front  .

  10. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover And Pad Replacement - Front  .
  11. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket  .
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
