Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front passenger bucket seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT -- BUCKET .
  2. Remove the windshield pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar  .
  3. Remove the center pillar trim panels. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar  .
  4. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper  .
  5. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement  .
  6. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead  .
  7. Pull the door opening moldings down to clear headliner. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT -- REAR DOOR OPENING .
  8. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement  .
  9. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT .
  10. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connectors.
    CAUTION: Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.
  11. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner.

  13. With the add of an assistant, remove the headliner through the rear passenger door opening.
